Muir Woods and Sausalito Tour

We will pick you up at your hotel in one of our comfortable vans. Best Bay Area Tours Muir Woods tour will then take you from San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge, past the Marin Headlands, and into a magical Redwood forest known as Muir Woods. Muir Woods is one of the most amazing and beautiful sights in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Coastal Sequoias (Redwoods) in Muir Woods are the tallest trees in the world! These towering and majestic trees are found only along the Northern California coast, and after decades of logging only 5% of these old growth trees remain. On our drive to Muir Woods our knowledgeable guide will explain how this grove of Redwoods was spared from the clear-cutting that went on during the gold rush and then again during the rebuilding and reconstruction of San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake.

Once in the grove of Redwoods, you will have a special opportunity to walk amongst these beautiful and awe inspiring Sequoia trees. Take a peaceful walk amongst these beautiful trees by following the creek bed, or climb high into the hills. You will spend at least 2 hours in the Redwood grove.

We will then leave Muir Woods and continue on to picturesque Sausalito California where you can shop, visit art galleries, or have lunch all while gazing across the bay at beautiful San Francisco. You have the option of returning with us back to San Francisco with a stop in the Marin Headlands, which provides stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco beyond. Or you may stay in Sausalito and spend as much time as you’d like and then make your own way back to San Francisco via the ferry.

8:00 - 8:45 Pick-up at your San Francisco hotel.
8:45 - 9:15 Drive across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods National Park.
9:15 - 11:15 Explore magical Muir Woods National Park for at least two hours.
11:15 - 11:45 Drive to the town of Sausalito.
11:45 - 12:45 Stroll picturesque Sausalito where you can shop, visit art galleries, or have lunch.
12:45 - 1:00 Return to your San Francisco hotel or you may stay longer in Sausalito and take a ferry back to San Francisco.

Muir Woods & Sausalito Afternoon Tour Schedule

1:30 - 2:00 Pick-up at your San Francisco hotel.
2:00 - 2:30 Drive across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods National Park.
2:30 - 4:30 Explore magical Muir Woods National Park for at least two hours.
4:30 - 5:00 Drive to the town of Sausalito.
5:00 - 6:00 Stroll picturesque Sausalito where you can shop, visit art galleries, or have lunch.
6:00 - 6:30 Return to your San Francisco hotel or you may stay longer in Sausalito and take a ferry back to San Francisco.

We will, however, do everything we can to get you on another tour at no additional charge if time and availability permits.
